Closest ariport is Pisa International Airport. It is small, however it has good connections within Europe, and from PDX through London. You can alternatively fly to Florence, Milan or Rome.
We highly suggest you renting a car as it can be the most flexible way to get around. Some rental companies might require an international diriving license, which could be obtained on AAA before leaving the US. If you'd rather travel by train, the closest station is in Cecina, approx 10 miles from the venue. If you have any issue with transportation let us know and we can help you finding a ride or an empty spot with someone.
